134-2 Requirement for disposal of pet waste.

  1. All pet owners and keepers are required to immediately and properly dispose of their pet’s solid waste deposited on any property, public or private unless aid property is owned or possessed by said pet owner and/or keeper or permission has been granted from the owner of said private property.

134-3 Owner responsible for control of dogs.

The owner of any dog or dogs in the Township of Little Egg Harbor shall be responsible for controlling the dog or dogs such that no dog shall be allowed to run at large on private property, other than the property of its owner or keeper, or any of the public streets or public places of this Township unless such dog is accompanied by a person who is capable of controlling it and the dog is securely confined and controlled by an adequate leash not more than six feet long.

Duty of owner.  By N.J.S.A. 40:65-1 et seq., the owner or owners of any premises in the municipality abutting a sidewalk or curb shall be responsible for the construction and reconstruction, paving and repaving, curbing and recurring, maintaining, repairing the sidewalks and curbs of the streets of the municipality wholly at the cost of the owner or owners.

All pet owners must immediately clean up after their animals and dispose of waste properly according to the Township Code requirements.  We are asking residents to please not walk dogs on sidewalks or grass strips between the curb and sidewalk.  Homeowners must ensure that any guests walking pets know and adhere to the rules governing pets.

 




POS-HOUSEHOLD PETS

      No more than a total of two (2) dogs, cats or other domestic pets is permitted to be kept in the home and cannot be kept for breeding or commercial purposes

     Animals must be attended at all times while outside. Dogs must be leashed while outside.

     No pets are permitted on the common property, i.e., the clubhouse, pool area, tennis courts, etc., with the exception of service or companion animals previously authorized by the Board and pursuant to Federal and State Law. Please curb your dog.

     Effective 4-7-21 Pets are permitted in the area of and on the Walking Path located behind the clubhouse. Please clean up after your pets.

     Curb your dog signs have been posted at all three entrances.
